Where Is Boutique Whitening Made?

Boutique Whitening is manufactured in the UK, under strict medical-grade regulation.

It is:

  • Dentist-prescribed

  • CE-marked

  • Batch-controlled

  • Clinically tested

  • Legally compliant with UK peroxide regulations

Safe. Traceable. Reliable. Exactly what you want in a product that goes on your teeth.

Boutique whitening kit - bleaching gels and custom made trays, just for you.

Known Concentrations vs Guesswork (OTC Kits & “Beauty Bar Whitening”)

Not all whitening is the same — even if the packaging looks similar.

🧪 Boutique Whitening (dentist-only)

  • 6% hydrogen peroxide (Boutique Day)

  • 10% or 16% carbamide peroxide (Night)

  • Stabilised, pH-balanced gel

  • Custom-made trays

  • Clinician-monitored

📈 Result: Even, consistent whitening with long-term stability.

🛒 Over-the-counter kits (supermarket / online)

  • Legally limited to 0.1% peroxide

  • Weak, patchy, short-lived

  • Generic trays that leak

😬 Result: Mild, temporary lightening — often disappointing.

💄 “Beauty Salon Whitening” (unregulated & illegal)

Beauty therapists are not allowed to use peroxide above 0.1%.

So when they promise “instant whitening”:

  • It's ineffective, or

  • It contains illegal gels, or

  • It causes chemical burns

Whitening is safe — when done by dentists. Dangerous when done next to lash lifts and nail bars.

Why We Use Boutique (and Nothing Else)

Boutique is gentle, predictable and backed by clinical evidence.

You get:

  • Digital custom-fitted trays

  • The correct concentration for your teeth

  • Proper monitoring

  • Safe long-term shade stability

No gimmicks. No dehydration tricks. No blue lights.

Whitening Myths — Quick Q&A

“Does whitening damage enamel?” No — it doesn’t remove or thin enamel.

“Is laser whitening stronger?” No — it gives temporary dehydration whiteness.

“Can veneers/composites whiten?” No — only natural enamel.

“Is blue-light whitening better?” No — light does nothing; gel does the work.

“Will whitening worsen black triangles?” No — but brighter enamel may make them slightly more visible.

“Is sensitivity normal?” Yes — temporary and harmless.

🚫 Who Should Not Whiten?

Whitening isn’t suitable if you have:

  • Gum disease

  • Untreated decay

  • Severe erosion or wear

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

  • Large visible composites

  • Very high sensitivity

  • Oral Lichen Planus (OLP)

    • Bleaching gels may irritate OLP lesions

    • Particularly erosive or active OLP

    • We will advise safer alternatives

Do I Need a Dental Exam Before Whitening?

Yes — by UK law, whitening gel above 0.1% peroxide requires a dental examination.

Even if you’ve seen another dentist recently, I still need to examine you myself.

“Because whitening gel is a regulated medical product, I’m legally responsible for ensuring your teeth and gums are healthy enough for it. So even if you’ve had a dental exam elsewhere recently, I still need to carry out my own quick assessment. It’s not about second-guessing your other dentist — it’s simply about safety, suitability, and doing things properly for you.”

A healthy tooth always whitens better.

Will My Fillings or Veneers Whiten Too?

No — only natural enamel whitens.

We routinely whiten first, then refresh one or two composites afterwards to match your new shade.

Simple. Predictable. Affordable.
