Pain Relief. Tooth Saved. Confidence Restored.

Root canal treatment doesn’t just stop the pain — it saves your natural tooth for the long term.

At DRJB Smile Clinic, we use advanced imaging and modern techniques to make treatment precise, comfortable, & effective.

Who Might Benefit From
Root Canal Treatment?

Root canal therapy is often the best solution when:

  • You have persistent pain or swelling — often caused by deep decay or failing fillings that have led to infection

  • Your tooth is cracked, broken, or heavily restored — resulting in nerve damage or irreversible inflammation

If the nerve inside the tooth is infected or has died, root canal therapy offers a long-term, tooth-saving solution — avoiding the need for extraction.

Our Root Canal Process

1. Assessment & Planning

We begin with digital x-rays or 3D CBCT scans to evaluate the problem. We'll explain the condition of your tooth and confirm that root canal therapy is the right choice and give a prognosis of the treatment outcome.

Pulp Removal & Cleaning

Using microscope magnification, the infected pulp chamber and canals are carefully disinfected. We clean and shape the canals using the latest evidence-based protocols — and seal  with bioceramics &thermal obturation (System B & Elements).

3. Final Restoration

High-quality restoration to seal the tooth securely. For molars and heavily loaded teeth, a custom crown is typically recommended soon after to provide full coverage and prevent future fractures. Studies show significantly improved long-term success & survival of root-treated teeth.

Root Canal Treatment FAQs

Will it hurt?

Modern root canal therapy is performed under local anaesthetic & is typically no more uncomfortable than having a filling. Many patients are surprised by how straightforward & painless it is — especially compared to the discomfort they felt beforehand.

Will I need a crown afterwards?

In many cases, yes — especially for posterior teeth (molars and premolars), where chewing forces are greatest. A crown protects the tooth from fracture and improves long-term success. Front teeth may not always need a crown.

Why not just extract the tooth?

Saving your natural tooth is usually the best long-term solution — functionally, aesthetically, and biologically. Extraction may lead to shifting teeth, bone loss, or the need for complex replacements. Root canal therapy is often more cost-effective and less invasive than replacing a missing tooth.

What happens if I don’t get it treated?

An untreated root infection can spread to other parts of the body and may lead to:

  • Abscess formation

  • Bone loss

  • Severe pain or swelling

Eventually, tooth loss becomes inevitable — and replacement options are often more invasive and costly.
